Lago Titicaca (elev. 3,820m/12,533ft)

The  tenth day of our honeymoon, we flew from Cusco to Juliaca and then took a taxi to Puno.

Masami on Lima Street in Puno.

The Puno Cathedral.

Masami chided Will for not being more adventurous when it came to Peruvian food.  Well, who was it that ate Alpaca!!

One of the typical internet cafes we frequently visited.

At the dock in Puno, tour boat operators line up for their turn.  The first boat in line sells itself as a "colectivo" or boat with multiple passengers.  The second boat operator in line tries to sell himself as a private tour boat operator until he finds himself first in line.  Here, Will discusses at length the merits of each boat with two competing skippers.

In the end, Will and Masami chose the colectivo.

Winding our way out to the Islas de Los Uros, the islands of the Uros people that they make out of the local reeds.

Docking at our first stop.

One's feet sink into the island, a rather strange feeling.

They had given this floating island the name Isla Pachamama.

We took a short ride on this reed boat.

Maria and Teresa were our pilots.

The future generation of island dwellers.
